Current News
Troop 276 serves the youth and the community of the east Las Vegas Valley. Currently we have 18 active Scouts, ranging in age from 11 to 15.
Our Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and both of our Patrol Leaders have all successfully completed the National Youth Leader Training Conference. Three of these Scouts have been asked back to the 2007 course to serve on staff. These Scouts are also planning to attend the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico next summer.
For the 2006-2007 Scout year the Patrol Leaders Council has planned two bike trips, a three day canoe trip, two backpacking trips and several camping trips.
Our December weekend outing will be a cross country bicycle ride through the south end of Red Rock Canyon Recreation Area, December 2-3, 2006. Scouts will ride between 15 and 30 miles over the weekend. Helmets are required.
For 2007, we plan on attending summer camp at Camp Three Falls in California. The Scouts have been challenged to recruit 25 new (active) Scouts into the Troop by June 1, 2007. By meeting this challenge, the Troop will plan the 2008 summer camp in Hawaii.
Troop 276 will participate in the Scouting for Food national service Project, Saturday, November 18, 2006. If you would like the Troop to pick-up your donation, please call us at 431-1854. Thank you.
